The Italian EICMA show is a must-attend event for the global motorcycle industry. With 1,300 exhibitors and over 500,000 visitors, don’t expect to see everything in a single day. With 15 pavilions and 3.5 million square feet of floor space, it’s a good idea to choose which booths you want to visit. CFMOTO has chosen Milan as the venue to unveil its new products and its 2026 range. We will focus on the new 1000 MT-X and its adventure version, the CRAFTED. One motorcycle in the catalog is receiving a special edition, the 675NK GP Edition. In keeping with the spirit of Moto GP, where CFMOTO excels, the Hangzhou-based company unveiled the V4 SR-RR supersport prototype, scheduled for release in 2027. The models that will be marketed in Canada are still to be determined based on market demand, but it is interesting to note the rise of the Chinese company. Through its continuous work and technical and commercial development, CFMOTO is gaining a reputation for reliability and a status close to that of certain Korean car brands, which is a compliment.

CFMOTO 1000MT-X

The CFMOTO 1000MT-X joins the MT adventure range, which has been renamed IBEX in Canada and already includes a 450 and 800 model (the IBEX 800 EXPLORE) in the catalog. It aims to combine power, agility, and cutting-edge technology.

Its 946.2 cm³ parallel twin-cylinder engine delivers 83 kW (111 hp) at 8500 rpm, and its maximum torque of 105 Nm is reached at 6250 rpm. This engine is not unknown and has already been used in orange European motorcycles.

The motorcycle weighs only 199 kg (222 lb) with a powertrain weighing 56 kg (125 lb).

The manufacturer has opted for high-quality European equipment such as the Bosch MSE 9.0 fuel injection system and a Bosch 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) that unlocks five riding modes. It is equipped with a fully adjustable KYB suspension system and a powerful Brembo braking system. For off-road riding, the 7-series aluminum rimshave 67% higher tensile strength than conventional alloys and come with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires as standard.

The 22.5-liter fuel tank offers a range of over 450 km.

The ergonomics have been redesigned with a slimmer top of the tank for better control of the machine. Its seat height of 870 mm can be lowered to 830 mm to accommodate riders who are 1.70 m or shorter.

The equipment has not been overlooked. The CFMOTO 1000MT-X comes with heated grips and seatcruise control, and adjustable handlebars and windshield.

In terms of electronics, five riding modes are available, including ABS and dynamic traction control. All information and adjustments are made via the highly durable 8-inch TFT touchscreen. In addition, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), quick shifter (up and down), and essential protections (skid plate, hand guards, and chain guard) come standard.

The 1000MT-X is available in two distinct color options: Zephyr Blue or Tactical Green. This motorcycle could very likely be released in Canada, as it meets the demands of the large-displacement motorcycle market.

Compared to its competitors, it offers superior power, range, and screen size to rivals such as the Honda Africa Twin, Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE, and BMW 900 GS Adventure (except for a tank with equivalent capacity in this case). Its adjustable seat height also makes it more accessible.

CFMOTO has developed a special version for EICMA, the 1000MT-X CRAFTED. It features exclusive components such as Akrapovic exhaust and protective elements, as well as a set of customized Givi luggage. Its refined finish with bronze accents gives it a high-end look and feel.

The motorcycle everyone is talking about at the show is also on display at the CFMOTO stand. The V4 SR-RR PROTOTYPE represents the company’s vision for competition and performance. Its sleek aesthetics and prominent winglets, inspired by MotoGP racing, set the tone.

Power comes from a new 997 cm³ V4 engine with a 90° crank angle. The curb weight is kept below 200 kg. Combined with a crankshaft output exceeding 210 horsepower (157 kW), the prototype achieves a power-to-weight ratio of 0.86 kg per hp (dry weight including racing exhaust). This feat puts the V4 SR-RR on the podium. It achieves the threshold of excellence of less than 1 kg per horsepower, a benchmark in this category.

The electronics have not been overlooked and manage several modes and driving aids. The suspension is also active and electronically controlled.

To control speed, its active aerodynamic wings adjust in real time according to speed and riding conditions.

The V4 SR-RR has already been tested on the track, but it is still in the prototype stage and will not be commercially available this year.

The model appearing on the Canadian market is the 675NK, a 675cc three-cylinder naked bike that combines lightness and riding pleasure. Its specifications include 95 hp, 51.6 ft-lb of torque at 8250 rpm, a lightweight chassis weighing 189 kg, and advanced features such as a TFT screen, quickshifter, ABS, and traction control. It is equipped with a 41 mm KYB inverted fork, adjustable for preload, compression, and rebound.

At EICMA, a racing version of the 675NK GP is on display. This special edition not only features race-inspired livery, but also a host of high-end parts that pay tribute to CFMOTO’s efforts in global competition.

It has been radically modified with Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, and an Akrapovic exhaust system, transforming this street bike into a true racing machine. It is decorated in the colors of Grand Prix motorcycles, in the presence of the Aspar Racing team, five-time winners of the Moto3 and Moto2 Grand Prix in 2025. With the season not yet over, the Aspar Racing Team already has a brilliant record of 17 podiums and 5 pole positions, while Maximo Quiles has just won the Moto3 Rookie of the Year title.

CFMOTO 800NK MSC

Also on display in Milan was the 800NK MSC model, equipped with a 799 cm3 parallel twin engine with a maximum power output of 99 hp at 9500 rpm and torque of 59 lb-ft at 8000 rpm. The most significant improvements in the new MSC version are in the electronic riding aids that control the bike’s stability. It includes traction control, torque control, three riding modes, and a 5-inch TFT color display.

In the 800MT series, renamed IBEX 800 in Canada, a new CFMOTO 800MT-ES model provides an upgraded version in the mid-range travel enduro segment. The focal point of this version is its fully electronically adjustable smart suspension.

Currently, the Canadian catalog offers the IBEX 800 Explore, with traditional suspension with manually adjustable preload, compression, and rebound. The future will tell if the ES version will reinforce the IBEX 800 Explore already in the Canadian catalog in the 2026 model year.

In addition to the major unveilings at the press conferences, CFMOTO presented new models such as the 125SC-F, as well as some two-wheelers from its electric sub-brand ZEEHO, such as the AE8 MAX and AE7, which are not yet distributed in Canada.
