In this segment, there have been few significant developments in the market this year. Here is the editorial team’s ranking for the year 2026.
Joint 5th place: Yamaha Grizzly 700 and Suzuki King Quad 750

We are not impressed by the innovation of these two models, which are offered with little change from year to year, with new colors or special equipment editions. Both models feature a large single-cylinder engine, independent four-wheel suspension, and power steering. However, buyers get peace of mind and several years of trouble-free use.
4th place: Can-Am Outlander 700

Can-Am’s Outlander 500 and 700 are already in their fourth year on the market. The large single-cylinder engine makes you forget the old V-engines. The ride comfort provided by the independent four-wheel suspension is very good, both on the single-seater and the MAX two-seater models. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with an imposing body that protects occupants from mud splashes and heat from the engine. Note the XU utility versions, which are adapted for work and perfectly complement the range. Due to its overall high performance, this model slightly exceeds the large-displacement category.
3rd place: CFMOTO CFORCE 800 and 1000

The CFORCE 800 and 1000 underwent a major overhaul last year. Basically, the qualities of the previous generation have been improved and the worst flaws corrected. The large CFORCE models are only available in two-seater versions, and with the 1000, you can opt for the very well-equipped Overland version. Comfort is excellent thanks to the comfortable seat and well-designed suspension. The revised engines are also above average in terms of performance: 84 hp for the 1000 cm³ and 70 hp for the 800 cm³. The finish and assembly of the body panels are now on par with the best.
2nd place: Polaris Sportsman 850

The Polaris Sportsman 850 is a truly well-designed vehicle. Its mechanical consistency means that everything works like a symphony when you drive it. The 850cc parallel twin engine delivers 78 hp through a very well-calibrated transmission. The comfortable suspension lives up to its reputation, maintaining solid and precise handling on the trail. Several equipment levels offered by Polaris increase the vehicle’s refinement and driving pleasure. However, with Can-Am’s remarkable upgrade to its large Outlander, Polaris will have its work cut out to keep up.
1st place: Can-Am Outlander 850 and 1000

Last year, the large-displacement Outlanders were completely redesigned. While the outgoing Outlander was far from outdated, the new model really raises the bar. This year, the 6X6s are coming to the rescue with three engine options to strengthen the lineup.
The engines are the most powerful in the segment, exceeding 100 horsepower to reach 101 HP. But all that power still needs to be transferred to the ground efficiently.
First, the new, stiffer G3 frame features independent double-wishbone suspension on all four wheels. Also, for the first time on ATVs, Smart-Shox semi-active suspension is available. In addition, for enclosed storage space, there are trunks in the front and rear luggage racks.
In addition, the new side panels completely block heat from reaching the rider’s calves, a flaw that plagued the previous generation. In short, its superior overall performance, impeccable handling precision, and high level of comfort have propelled it to the top of this ranking.
