20th Anniversary of the XRS
In 2027, Ski-Doo’s XRS models celebrate their 20th anniversary. For the occasion, the brand has paid special attention to the styling: the snowcross-inspired number 20 appears on both sides of the rear of the seat, along with the famous 2007 yellow colour and, of course, the iconic bee on the front grille.Updates also include KYB Pro 40 front shocks with 22 adjustment positions, as well as Silent Stop Mode, which shuts off the engine when the brake lever is held for several seconds and restarts it automatically when the lever is released. The 600 cc version also features Eco Mode, a heated brake lever and the Ride group, which lets you follow your riding companions on the 10.25-inch display.
New 600 RR Engine
RR stands for “race ready.” This new engine shares several characteristics with the RS racing model. It features auxiliary injectors, like the 850 and 850 Turbo engines, that inject directly into the intake manifolds and improve throttle response. The engine also receives new cylinders, a larger-diameter exhaust and improved transfer ports. These changes allow it to rev 150 rpm higher and produce an additional 5 horsepower. The cylinders now have a plasma-applied coating. Its greater porosity retains oil more effectively and helps reduce oil consumption by approximately 20%. This new engine will run on the new XPS E-TEC Max oil.
Eco Mode
Entirely new for 2027 on a two-stroke engine, this mode softens throttle response and makes power delivery more progressive, reducing fuel consumption by approximately 5%. Unlike four-stroke models, whose maximum output is reduced in Eco Mode, the 600 RR retains all 130 horsepower. Simply press the throttle fully to reach maximum rpm.
Silent Mode
Already used for several years in the automotive world, Silent Mode, or Silent Stop Mode, now appears on the new 600 RR engine. When the brake lever is held for more than two seconds, the engine shuts off. It remains off while the lever is held and restarts automatically as soon as the lever is released.
A Little More Sound
The new 600 RR receives an exhaust recalibrated for the engine’s additional 150 rpm. Notably, it delivers a slightly racier sound that is closer to the snocross competition model.
XPS Max Oil
Developed for the 600 RR engine, this new oil remains between the piston and cylinder longer so it can perform its essential protective role. It also offers greater resistance to degradation. Importantly, it is priced the same as the synthetic oil BRP has sold for several years.
Heated Brake Lever
Available as an option only on models equipped with the new 600 RR, the heated brake lever will help keep your fingers warm throughout your ride.
