At the Montreal Motorcycle Show, CFMOTO Canada took advantage of the buzz surrounding the event to outline its growth ambitions in the off-road sector. Romain Perrin, Director of Marketing and Product Strategy, and Anaelle Thivierge-Brouard, Brand Manager, provided an update on the Quebec-based company CMI, its evolution, and its position in the Canadian market. The dealer network is expanding across the country to meet demand fueled by the arrival of motorcycles and off-road vehicles, which are currently driving market growth. A brand-new generation of ATVs with a cutting-edge design was unveiled at the Milan show and has just been put to the test (after the interview) in an international presentation in Nice.

Technological Revolution in ATVs at EICMA

At the Milan show, CFMOTO unveiled the new fourth-generation design of the CFORCE C4, C5, and C6 ATVs, featuring enhanced performance and technology. These models were put through their paces in the field following the show. However, the manufacturer remains cautious about exact release dates. As a global player, CFMOTO must adapt each model to local standards, which vary considerably from one country to another, both in terms of engine displacement and safety equipment.

Canada: A Market That the Head Office Listens To

Quebec and Canada impose strict regulations on off-road vehicles, including a weight limit of 950 kg for travel on Quebec’s federated trails and vehicle widths often limited to 66 inches on organized trail networks.

Romain Perrin confirms that Canada’s voice reaches all the way to headquarters: “We are an important market for CFMOTO. We have an excellent partnership that sometimes allows us to develop special editions. ”

This was the case in 2023 with a specific edition of the UFORCE 600, and it’s the case again for the 2026 lineup. A striking example is the adaptation of the 400cc model (the CFORCE 400), an entry-level product that meets a specific need here, whereas it isn’t available anywhere else in the world.

While the wait may seem long for certain flagship models showcased at international trade shows, CFMOTO Canada’s strategy is clear: to adapt global technology to local geographic and regulatory realities, without sacrificing performance.

When asked whether the Canadian importer was still installing CVTech clutches on some of its quads, the answer was clear.

“Across the entire current lineup, CFMOTO has developed its own clutch technology in-house,” explains Romain Perrin. “It has proven itself. Feedback from media tests and industry experts has been extremely positive. “

This transition marks an important milestone; the brand no longer relies on external factors to reassure its customers. Its warranty of up to 5 years and its reliability in line with industry standards are its key selling points.

Moving Beyond the Constant “Made in China” Argument

The Chinese origin of products remains a tired argument, and Romain Perrin tackles it head-on. Rather than trying to justify itself, CFMOTO Canada is focusing on a solid three-point strategy: test drives, customer testimonials, and a robust warranty.

« “The shift in perception after a test ride is incredible,” notes Anaelle Thivierge-Brouard. It is the customers themselves who become the best ambassadors on social media, putting critics in their place with their real-world experience.

To build confidence, the brand is heavily investing in demo units at dealerships. Opinions should be formed behind the handlebars, not based on “preconceived notions .”

With a 5-year warranty across the entire lineup (motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides), CFMOTO sends a clear message: they are confident in their reliability. “It’s the best warranty in the industry, and it’s our way of demonstrating our confidence in the product’s quality.”

CMI: A Family-Owned Business Based in Quebec

Despite exponential growth, the organization behind CFMOTO in Canada, CMI, remains a family-run business based in Quebec. Hélène Binet leads the company, now supported by the second generation. The result is a network of 150 to 155 active dealers in Canada, of which approximately 80 also carry the motorcycle line.

The U10 Pro Highland: The Side-by-Side Everyone Wants

The off-road quad and side-by-side lineup has been very well received, and among these vehicles, there’s one model that’s exceeding expectations. The U10 Pro Highland is flying off the dealership lots so fast that supply can’t keep up with demand. Its success isn’t based on its price—which is well-positioned in the market—but on its features and capabilities, as well as its new three-cylinder engine.

This machine has proven itself capable of getting the job done. It comes standard with accessories that others sell as options, such as a windshield or air conditioning, and is backed by a 5-year warranty.

This is a good example of the brand’s integration into the community.

A Player in the Canadian Market

At the end of this conversation with Romain Perrin and Anaelle Thivierge-Brouard, one thing is clear: CFMOTO is no longer a “newcomer” trying to carve out a niche based solely on pricing. Over the years, the Quebec-based company has earned customer loyalty through the reliability of its products and the quality of its service, while building a solid dealer network. Today, the Chinese manufacturer supplies them with original vehicles well-suited to market demands, and new models are a regular feature.

The arrival last September of CFMOTO Canada on the motorcycle board of directors of Moto Canada—the association representing the interests of manufacturers and distributors of motorcycles and off-road vehicles—is further proof of the brand’s deep roots in Canada.

Following the show, during the 2026 CFMOTO Global Distributors’ Meeting in Nice, France, CMI Motor received the “Outstanding in Growth” award from the CFMOTO brand. This recognition clearly reflects the Canadian importer’s visible efforts.

CFMOTO CFORCE 2027: Redesigned and Reinvented

CFMOTO held a global launch in March in Nice, France, for the CFORCE C6 PRO, CFORCE C4, and CFORCE C5 ATVs, which had been showcased at EICMA. Attendees were able to test the vehicles in the field, putting them through their paces in acceleration and off-road maneuvering. Please note: this new generation is not yet available in Canada.

2027 CFORCE C6 PRO: Style and Technology

The CFORCE C6 PRO stands out for its styling. Inspired by a minimalist design with sharp lines, it features sharp angles and pronounced edges, highlighted by matrix LED lighting that modernizes its visual signature.

Under this bodywork lies a new 647 cc DOHC Big-Bore engine. Developing 54 hp and 57 Nm of torque, this engine block is characterized by its power curve. It delivers over 50 Nm of torque consistently between 3,500 and 7,500 rpm. This flexibility ensures immediate responsiveness, whether tackling technical terrain or riding on a fast trail. The numbers speak for themselves: the C6 PRO reaches 60 km/h in just 3.73 seconds. To transmit power and stiffen the frame, the width has been increased to 122 cm (48 inches).

2027  C4 and C5: New Design and New Performance

The new generation of the CFORCE C4 and C5 adopts the new Gen4+ aesthetic and boosts its raw performance. The C4 goes from 30 to 33 hp, and goes from 0 to 60 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the C5 breaks records with a time of 4.3 seconds(5.1 seconds for the Touring version), a feat for the 500cc segment.

In addition to speed, the riding experience has been transformed. Particular attention has been paid to ergonomics. The engine is more compact, leaving more legroom. The manual controls have been redesigned to be less tiring, complemented by softer grips and a redesigned seat. The exhaust has been redesigned to direct heat away from the rider.

We’ll have to wait for official word from CFMOTO Canada to confirm whether these models will arrive in Canada in 2027.
