Table des matières

Can-Am took advantage of its professional meeting in California to unveil several new products. It’s a firework display of new vehicles. Among them, the motorcycle range returns to the catalog, fifty years on. Paying homage to the motocross bikes of the ’70s, the Origin is a road-approved off-road motorcycle. It enters the adventure bike range, and its features allow it to venture onto gravel roads. The Pulse is the city version, a perfect place for motorcycling, with plenty of electric charging points, so you’ll never run out of power. A low-slung, maneuverable and highly responsive motorcycle thanks to its Rotax E-Power engine.

When developing the concept of Can-Am motorcycles, the marketing department and engineers chose to give them these qualities:

  • Accessible: intended for everyone, thanks to easy handling and the absence of gears to shift.
  • Exciting: With exceptional performance thanks to engine power and lively acceleration.
  • Intelligent: Equipped with advanced technologies, for safer, more comfortable, more connected driving.

The Can-Am Pulse, an electric motorcycle designed for the city

BRP has won numerous design awards, and the motorcycles have benefited from this expertise. The Pulse has a unique, modern aesthetic. It’s very low to the ground, and will appeal to riders who usually find it hard to put their feet on the ground. As with the other Can-Am model, the battery is part of the bike’s chassis. The false fuel tank houses a 1.7-liter glovebox, with a USB socket included.

A Rotax engine plugged in

Equipped with a Rotax E-Power electric motor, the Pulse develops a maximum output of 47 hp, providing lightning acceleration and immediate pick-up. A vigorous 72 Nm of torque ensures exceptional traction in all circumstances. Powered by an 8.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Pulse offers an estimated 160 kilometers of city driving range, more than sufficient for daily commutes. The active regenerative braking system optimizes range and protects the environment. Top speed is 129 km/h, more than sufficient for Canadian roads.

Technology and connectivity

The 10.25-inch color touchscreen is intuitive and customizable. The BRP Connect system lets you connect your cell phone and benefit from Apple CarPlay functionalities, just like in the car. Different riding modes (Normal, Eco, Rain, Sport+) adapt the bike to all conditions and rider preferences. No need to shift gears by foot, another advantage for new riders.

Safety and comfort

The Pulse is equipped with front and rear disc brakes with ABS and a traction control system. The riding position is ergonomic. The reduced seat height, coupled with a reverse gear, ensures good maneuverability at standstill. A windscreen can be added quickly using the LinQ system, to guarantee greater protection when travelling at higher speeds.

Pulse 73 version

The 73 version celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first Can-Am motorcycles. In addition to the usual Pulse features, this anniversary version receives the following: signature LED lights, Sterling Silver paint, front spoiler, vehicle cover, colored stripes on the wheels, 73 badge.

In short, the Can-Am Pulse is the ideal electric motorcycle for city dwellers looking for a clean, efficient alternative to combustion-powered motorcycles.

The Can-Am Origin, for off-road adventures

Can am ORIGIN-73-Beauty – grande taille

The Can-Am Origin is a versatile electric motorcycle designed for both road and trail riding. It combines the performance of a road bike with the capabilities of an off-road motorcycle. It’s in the dual-purpose and adventure range, with high ground clearance to tackle any terrain.

No more stops at the gas station with the Rotax electric

Equipped with the same Rotax E-Power motor as the Pulse, the Origin develops a maximum power output of 47 hp and 72 Nm of torque, ensuring lively acceleration and appreciable traction even on gravel. The 8.9 kWh lithium-ion battery offers an estimated 145 kilometers of city range, ideal for escapades around town or at the cottage.

A robust chassis for adventure

The Origin’s chassis is specially designed to cope with a wide range of terrain. KYB suspension provides a generous 255 mm of travel front and rear, ensuring exceptional control and traction on all types of terrain. High ground clearance and Dunlop D605 50/50 all-terrain tires allow you to tackle obstacles with confidence, while riding comfortably on asphalt.

The drive chain is low-maintenance, thanks to the oil in the chain housing and the automatic chain tensioner.

Technology and connectivity

The Origin benefits from the same technological equipment as the Pulse: 10.25” touch screen, BRP Connect system, multiple driving modes (with the addition of two specific modes for off-road riding). At all times, the driver knows the battery charge level, the remaining mileage and the estimated recharging time.

Accessory mounting

Gone are the days of randomly hanging straps on the bike. The new LinQ Nano technology makes it possible to attach accessories in a matter of seconds. Anchor points are installed on the front (for a windshield), on the tank (for a tank bag) and on the rear for side panniers. Simply clip on one of the optional accessories offered in the Can-Am accessories catalog. These include soft cases, a tank bag and the LinQ adjustable windscreen. It’s also possible to add Adventure side guards in metal tubing, or a passenger seat kit with passenger footrest.

Safety and comfort

The engineers have focused on the safety of the Origin. Disc brakes with ABS, traction control and adjustable suspension are invaluable driving aids. The riding position, designed for off-road use, offers great freedom of movement. It allows the rider to move easily over obstacles. A comfort saddle is available as an optional accessory.

Origin 73 version

The Can-Am dual-purpose motorcycle is the direct descendant of the motocross models created 50 years ago. The 73 version recalls these pioneers with specific features: signature LED lights, Sterling Silver paint, LinQ windscreen, colored stripes on the wheels, 73 badge.

In short, the Can-Am Origin is a versatile electric motorcycle, ideal for adventure-seeking riders.
