The odometer may read thousands of miles at the end of the season, but for many of them, the snowmobile never even touched the ground. They’re often called “Air Miles,” and Freeriders rack up them, day after day. With a voracious appetite for dramatic descents, soaring through the air, and opportunities to excel, the 2019 Ski-Doo Freeride is the perfect vehicle for those who prefer to push the boundaries of the snowmobile world.

Designed for the snowmobiler who has the audacity to proudly display his or her difference, from its unmistakable colors to its ability to take routes that set other vehicles back, the Freeride is a snowmobile as unique as its rider, capable of providing memorable winter experiences.

Embracing this lifestyle and getting the most out of this kind of snowmobile requires features like an industry-leading engine, a state-of-the-art, race-inspired chassis and suspension, and a totally exclusive look. And because it’s such a diverse lifestyle in the snowmobile world, BRP Ski- Doo engineers felt it necessary to offer the 2019 Freeride with 137-, 146-, 154- and 165-inch (348-, 371-, 391- and 420-cm) tracks.

Whether it’s crisscrossing the powder or taking off for memorable rides, the Freeride’s centralized weight, narrow frame and lightweight REV Gen4 chassis provide supreme control, on the snow and in the air. The 850 E-TEC engine and its ultra-fast response give riders all the power and confidence they need to take on any winter challenge.

The 137, 146 and 154 S-38 models are still available with adjustable ski spacing from 38.4″ to 40.2″ (97.5cm to 102cm), but all Freeride models can be equipped with the SHOT Advanced Start System, which allows the rider to conserve energy for more time on the snow and even more epic rides.

SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS OF 2019 Ski-Doo Freeride 137

  • RS Running Boards: Designed for aggressive stand-up riding, they are flatter, wider and stronger. Made of thicker aluminum (3mm vs. 1.8mm), they feature front and rear reinforcements to withstand hard landings.
  • rMotion rear suspension
  • PowderMax track with FlexEdge and 1.75″ (4.4 cm) profile: Exclusive 16″ (41 cm) wide track for increased flotation without compromising handling. Combines PowderMax technology with a 1.75″ (4.4 cm) profile and FlexEdge technology for increased maneuverability in deep snow
  • Pilot DS 2 Skis: Perfect for hybrid use, these center-keel skis perform well on trails and in deep snow. The thin edges provide excellent mountainside performance.
  • Adjustable ski spacing from 38.4″ to 40.1″ (97.5 cm to 102 cm) 4.75″ (12 cm) handlebar rise
  • Sea level calibration: Standard

SPRING OPTION:

  • SHOT start technology. Starts with the push of a button, and almost no additional weight. The first start is done manually, using the recoil starter, and the motor then charges the supercapacitor. Subsequent starts, using the button on the handlebar, use the stored energy and magneto to turn the crankshaft, and E-TEC technology allows the engine to start. This system eliminates nearly 9 kg (20 lbs) compared to a conventional electric starter.
  • Electric starter (without recoil starter)
  • PowderMax track with FlexEdge 16″ x 137″ x 2.25″ (40.6 cm x 348 cm x 5.7 cm)

SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS OF 2019 Ski-Doo Freeride 146

  • RS Running Boards: Designed for aggressive stand-up riding, they are flatter, wider and stronger. Made of thicker aluminum (3 mm vs. 1.8 mm), they have front and rear reinforcements to withstand hard landings.
  • tMotion 146 rear suspension
  • PowderMax track with FlexEdge and 2.5″ (6.4 cm) profile: Exclusive 16″ (41 cm) wide track for increased flotation without compromising handling. Combines PowderMax technology with a 2.5″ profile and FlexEdge technology for increased maneuverability in deep snow.
  • Pilot DS 2 Skis: Perfect for hybrid use, these center-keel skis perform well on trails and in deep snow. The thin edges provide excellent mountainside performance.
  • Adjustable ski spacing from 38.4″ to 40.1″ (97.5 cm to 102 cm)
  • 4.75″ (12 cm) handlebar rise block

SPRING OPTION:

  • SHOT start technology: One-button starts and almost no additional weight. The first start is done manually, using the recoil starter, and the motor then charges the supercapacitor. Subsequent starts, using the SHOT button on the handlebar, use the stored energy and magneto to turn the crankshaft, and E-TEC starts the engine. This system eliminates nearly 9 kg (20 lbs) compared to a conventional electric starter.
  • Electric starter (without recoil starter)
  • Sea Level Calibration: Powertrain calibrated for use below 4,000 m (1,220 ft).

SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE 2019 Ski-Doo Freeride 154 S-38

  • Streamlined Running Boards: Snow passes easily through the ultra-rigid extruded mesh-style openings, preventing digging and reducing friction to ensure a firm grip. Horizontal foot position provides more comfort and control. Excellent snow evacuation. 0.75″ (20 mm) higher than REV-XM.
  • tMotion rear suspension
  • Lightweight PowderMax track with FlexEdge technology: Easily maneuver on the side of the mountain with a flexible track edge that reduces the effort required to tilt the snowmobile to the side. Tackle slopes with skill thanks to a 3.5″ pitch that reduces weight, but also increases performance by retaining more snow between the lugs to improve traction and float the sled on the snow. Combined with this reduced pitch, the sturdy, lighter stud design reduces weight by 10 lbs (4.5 kg) on the 154″ and 165″ (391 cm and 419 cm) tracks with 2.5″ (6.3 cm) profiles. This exclusive 16″ (41 cm) wide track increases flotation and traction without compromising maneuverability.
  • Pilot DS 3 Skis: Designed to work in conjunction with deeper, longer tracks, the Pilot DS 3 skis are a variation of the popular Pilot DS 2 skis with a 12mm deeper keel. They are more stable on the mountain side and provide superior control. Includes exclusive removable tips to widen the ski tip: use in deep powder to float better, and remove on crust to prevent the tip from lifting and braking the snowmobile.
  • 6.5″ (16.5 cm) handlebar riser block

SPRING OPTION:

  • SHOT start technology: One-button starts and almost no additional weight. The first start is done manually, using the recoil starter, and the motor then charges the supercapacitor. Subsequent starts, using the SHOT button on the handlebar, use the stored energy and magneto to turn the crankshaft, and E-TEC starts the engine. • Adjustable ski spacing from 35.7″ to 37.4″ (90.7 cm to 95.0 cm)
  • Snow Scrapers: Rail-mounted scrapers increase ice and snow spraying for better cooling capacity in icy conditions or when snow is very compact. Designed to operate in reverse.
  • 6.5″ (16.5 cm) handlebar lift block
