SV-7GX: A NEW KIND OF SV
The SV-7GX was developed to establish a new option in the midweight crossover category, blending the everyday usability of a standard motorcycle with the versatility and presence of a sportadventure-inspired machine. Built around the trusted SV650 V-twin platform and styled with the dynamic proportions of Suzuki’s GSX-S1000GX, the SV-7GX delivers a compact, road-focused crossover experience.

Its 17-inch front and rear wheel configuration is intended to retain responsive, street-oriented handling, while the upright riding position provides a commanding view of the road and a relaxed posture. The combination is designed to suit a broad range of riders, from those stepping into their first larger-displacement motorcycle to experienced riders looking for an agile and comfortable machine.
PERFORMANCE & POWER

At the heart of the SV-7GX is Suzuki’s 645 cm³ liquid-cooled, 90-degree DOHC V-twin engine, a powerplant with more than 25 years of development and more than 500,000 units produced. The engine is known for its broad, linear torque delivery and distinctive uneven-firing V-twin character, and has been refined for the new crossover application.
For the SV-7GX, the V-twin is paired with a new electronic throttle system that provides precise, progressive response and enables Suzuki’s electronic rider aids. Three selectable SDMS riding modes allow the rider to tailor throttle characteristics to riding conditions and preference, while STCS traction control offers three intervention levels plus OFF.
A six-speed transmission is paired with Suzuki’s bi-directional Quick Shift system, allowing clutchless upshifts and downshifts for smoother operation and reduced rider effort. Suzuki Easy Start and Low RPM Assist further contribute to easy, confidence-inspiring low-speed operation.
CHASSIS, HANDLING & CONTROL
The SV-7GX uses a lightweight tubular steel trellis frame engineered to balance rigidity, stability and agility. The frame retains the slim proportions and balanced weight distribution associated with the SV platform, while revised geometry and ergonomics support the crossover’s upright riding position and long-distance capability.
A 41 mm telescopic front fork provides 125 mm of travel, while the link-type rear monoshock offers 129 mm of travel and seven-step spring preload adjustment. Suspension settings are designed to favour comfort while retaining the precise handling character of the SV platform.
Dual 290 mm front floating discs with four-piston calipers and a 240 mm rear disc provide progressive braking performance, supported by ABS. New 10-spoke cast aluminum wheels are fitted with Pirelli Angel GT II sport-touring tires in 120/70ZR17 front and 160/60ZR17 rear sizes.
TECHNOLOGY & RIDER EXPERIENCE
The SV-7GX introduces Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) technology to the SV platform. Ride-by-wire throttle control works with SDMS and STCS to provide riders with selectable levels of throttle response and traction management, while the bi-directional Quick Shift system further enhances control and ease of operation.

A 4.2-inch full-colour TFT display provides a clear interface for vehicle information and electronic settings. Multiple display layouts allow riders to prioritize performance information, touring data or navigation, while an automatic brightness sensor adjusts the display to ambient light conditions.
Suzuki Ride Connect+ smartphone integration adds turn-by-turn navigation and displays selected smartphone notifications, including incoming calls and messages, weather and traffic alerts. A USBC port provides 5V/3A output for powering compatible electronic equipment.
DESIGN, COMFORT & FUNCTIONALITY
The SV-7GX combines the athletic proportions of a sportbike with the upright stance of a crossover. Its front cowl draws design inspiration from the GSX-S1000GX, with a compact dual-function LED projector headlight and distinctive LED position lights creating a sharp, forward-focused appearance.
Wind-tunnel-developed bodywork is designed to provide effective wind protection while maintaining the motorcycle’s slim profile. A three-position adjustable windscreen offers 50 mm of height adjustment, while integrated knuckle covers help deflect wind and debris from the rider’s hands.

The upright riding position places the handlebar closer to the rider and the footpegs lower than on the SV650. Rider and passenger seats receive additional padding, while the 795 mm seat height maintains a relatively accessible reach to the ground. A standard molded rear carrier and large grab rails add practical carrying and passenger functionality, with provisions for accessory luggage and a 45-litre top case.
SUZUKI V-TWIN HERITAGE
The SV-7GX carries forward the character of Suzuki’s long-running 90-degree V-twin engine, first introduced in 1999. With more than two decades of development and more than 500,000 units produced, the engine has become a defining element of the SV family, combining compact dimensions, linear torque delivery and a distinctive V-twin pulse.
