The 2026 CFMOTO ZFORCE Z10 and Z10-4 are entering a highly competitive segment. They aim to meet the expectations of performance enthusiasts who like to push the limits. These models are designed for those who love power, off-road fun, and pure adrenaline.
The question is: have they been able to meet expectations? We recently had the opportunity to test pre-production versions, and here are our impressions.

Style and quality finish
The styling of the 2026 ZFORCE Z10 and Z10-4 takes a much more innovative approach than the manufacturer’s other models. The bodywork features sharp lines and an athletic stance that hints at its sporting capabilities. LED headlights emphasize the modern visual signature and technological aspect of this redesign.

The overall structure exudes robustness and confidence at first glance. The sculpted side panels give an impression of power and dynamism even when stationary. Large air vents behind the doors provide it a sublime look.

The cabin features ergonomics inspired by modern automobiles, with a dashboard featuring multiple buttons. The combination of different types of materials, colors, and textures is simply mind-blowing. This is unheard of for this manufacturer, which is stepping out of its comfort zone.

The multifunction steering wheel offers a comfortable, intuitive grip and incorporates numerous controls. The wraparound seats effectively hold occupants in place during sharp turns while providing comfort. The overall ergonomics promote extended outings without noticeable fatigue.

The digital dashboard above the steering wheel clearly displays essential information. This allows you to stay focused on the road without having to look at the center.

The second touchscreen in the middle provides Bluetooth connectivity for an excellent level of technology. It integrates even more features and has an intuitive interface. The overall impression is that it is of superior quality compared to previous generations and has an impeccable finish.
Turbocharged engine

Mechanically, the 2026 CFMOTO ZFORCE Z10 and Z10-4 are powered by a 998 cc turbocharged 3-cylinder engine. This powertrain delivers 143 hp, placing these models in the performance vehicle category.
The available torque of 100 lb-ft (136 N*m) allows for sharp acceleration on the trail and sustained recovery. Despite this, acceleration is delivered in a very civilized manner. Perhaps even too civilized in sport mode. We would have preferred an even more aggressive response from the pedal.
Of course, Bosch electronic fuel injection ensures precise and consistent management in a variety of conditions. The engine’s response promotes versatility for touring or sporty driving, depending on the mode selected.
Transmission and drive modes

The OmniDriveâ„¢ CVT transmission complements the engine with quick and progressive response. All-wheel drive assisted by lockable differentials improves traction. In addition, the various selectable modes allow you to tackle demanding terrain. Or send all the power to the rear wheels for controlled drifting.
Semi-active FOX QSE electronic suspension

The suspension uses long-travel A-arms at the front to absorb bumps. This provides generous 18-inch travel at the front. FOX QSE electronic shock absorbers are responsible for absorbing everything. They provide excellent stability during aggressive driving with different settings. Or they can be used to enhance comfort on trails.
The rear features a multi-link, oscillating system that offers remarkable control on rough terrain. The rear wheels have no less than 20 inches of travel. Combining the suspension and chassis geometry, the ground clearance is generous at 14 inches. This allows you to easily and confidently navigate any obstacles in your path.
Other noteworthy mechanical features

The braking system is no slouch either, featuring ventilated discs to maintain consistent power during extended use. Finally, the electronic equipment includes precise, adjustable power steering for optimal feedback.
Driving impressions

The driving impressions quickly confirm the assertive character of the 2026 CFMOTO ZFORCE Z10 and Z10-4. The engine responds well and offers energetic thrust that is much appreciated on trails. Acceleration remains consistent even on hills or sandy terrain. On the other hand, we would like the punch to be more instantaneous, and we detect a certain delay before the turbo kicks in. It’s possible that the calibrations and mapping are not yet at their peak with these pre-production models. The future will certainly bring corrections in this regard. At least, we hope so.

The chassis inspires confidence during quick direction changes. The vehicle maintains remarkable stability even at higher speeds. The suspension effectively absorbs medium to high-intensity shocks. The driver feels good communicating with the terrain through the steering wheel without any noticeable discomfort.

The 4-seater version (Z10-4) surprises with its agility despite its longer wheelbase. All four occupants enjoy a dynamic and reassuring experience. In more technical situations, the all-wheel drive helps to overcome obstacles. The engine torque allows you to climb difficult surfaces without excessive effort, and the lockable differentials reinforce confidence in demanding sections. The overall handling of both versions remains intuitive for less experienced drivers. More advanced drivers will appreciate the stability of the chassis at sustained speeds.
But which version should you choose?

The two versions meet different needs but retain the same strong personality. The Z10 offers a more direct and sporty ride for two occupants. The Z10-4 retains this dynamic personality, albeit to a lesser extent, but adds two extra seats for family outings or trips with friends.

Personally, I have to admit… I preferred the 4-seater version to the shorter version. Its handling is more predictable overall. In addition, skids are easier to keep on track. On the other hand, if you want the most dynamic machine, the Z10 (2-seater) is the version of choice.

Areas for improvement
There are only a few areas for improvement, but they are worth mentioning.
- The first concerns the soundproofing of the cabin during long trips at high speeds. The three-cylinder engine and its clutch produce a pleasant sound, but it can sometimes be too loud due to the location of the intakes. Improved acoustic treatment and relocation would make the experience more comfortable.

- The second point concerns protection against dust and mud around the doors. There is still some space between the body and the door. Some users may therefore want effective seals for sandy trails or splashy rides.
- The engine has a slight delay before the turbo kicks in. It feels like these prototype versions still need a little fine-tuning. This point will be reconfirmed in a future test.
- Overall visibility could be improved. This is somewhat the price to pay for sitting in such a sporty position. There is a lack of visibility for the front and rear wheels. At least a rearview camera is standard to counteract this issue.
Conclusion

In conclusion, the 2026 CFMOTO ZFORCE Z10 and Z10-4 represent a major evolution for the brand. Their combination of power, stability, and modernity is impressive from the very first miles. CFMOTO is demonstrating a clear desire to compete in the hypersport vehicle segment against market leaders Polaris and Can-Am. These new vehicles position them in an interesting area without playing the maximum power card. In terms of performance, we feel that the gap between these major manufacturers and CFMOTO is narrowing over the years.
Users looking for excellent value for money will find a compelling solution to consider here. These vehicles confirm that CFMOTO is rapidly progressing towards a remarkable level of quality.
