The crossover rider wants to go anywhere and everywhere – trails, single track, off-trail* and even the deep fresh meadows. Limitation is not something that comes easy, exploring is – and that’s what these adventure seekers look for – the challenge of discovering new playgrounds. Whether that means staying on trails all day, or completely off-trail or a day of both on and off trail, their snowmobile has to be good at both.  The joy they find in picking through the trees and carving in powder is matched by the fun-loving ability to rail corners and blitz trail chop. The kind of versatility and performance they’re looking for can be found in the best-selling 50/50 crossover – the 2023 Ski-Doo Backcountry.

Every ride aboard a 2023 Ski-Doo Backcountry starts with the REV Gen4 platform – renowned for being an extremely responsive snowmobile platform. Nimble and agile with a centrally balanced engine, it responds to the slightest rider input for effortless maneuverability in deep snow, and precise handling on the trail. The open cockpit design allows riders freedom to move and interpret the ride as they want, making easy transitions from sitting, to standing, to wrong foot forward carving, it all flows naturally.

The suspensions are key to providing the versatility these riders demand and under the tunnel is the purpose-built cMotion suspension that combines the best of rMotion trail characteristics and the uncoupled deep snow benefits of the tMotion. It has become the benchmark of 50-50 crossover rear suspensions. Capable of absorbing nasty moguls and melting away trail chatter, it’s equally adept at carving up fresh powdery meadows and snaking through tightly treed forests with ease. New this year is the confident and capable RAS X front suspension featuring adjustable ski stance, riders are hard pressed to find terrain the Backcountry doesn’t like.

Powered by either the Rotax 850 E-TEC, 600R E-TEC or the 600 EFI, there are three lightweight 2-stroke engine options to please this crowd. Each offer instant throttle response, class leading power and deliver industry-leading efficiency for long-lasting, adrenaline-filled adventures.

Whether plotting a new course or finding the way home, Backcountry X and X-RS riders have the option of in-dash GPS navigation straight from the factory* to make it easier. It’s part of the Large Panoramic 7.8-inch LCD digital display that features Bluetooth connectivity and app compatibility for navigation, music, helmet-to-helmet communication and more.

*7.8” gauge is only available with 850 E-TEC engine with electric start
