Effortlessly carving through deep powder, climbing steep slopes, slaloming through dense undergrowth, exploring uncharted territory – no experience on earth beats the feeling you get at the controls of a 2022 Ski-Doo Summit.
The ability to conquer all the challenges that powder presents starts with the REV Gen4 platform. The open cockpit design allows the driver to move freely, and the balanced engine in the center of the chassis gives almost telepathic control of the vehicle. It’s so nimble and maneuverable that a glance from the driver is all it takes to adjust the vehicle’s trajectory.
In the deep snow segment, the notion of power has taken dizzying leaps, first with the introduction of the Rotax 850 E-TEC, then with the arrival of the 600R E-TEC, and now with the 850 E-TEC Turbo, the industry’s first factory-produced turbocharged two-stroke engine. Each delivers class-leading power, with instant acceleration perfectly matched to the ultra-maneuverable chassis to make it even easier for the rider to reach previously inaccessible places. The 850 E-TEC Turbo has earned the admiration of the industry for delivering on its promise of easy-to-control, high-power, peace-of-mind like no other factory-produced turbocharged snowmobile.
More than just an engine, the 850 E-TEC Turbo is a lightweight, turbocharged package designed entirely by Rotax and Ski-Doo engineers. With no turbo lag, it delivers the instantaneous response of the 850 E-TEC that snowmobilers have come to love. In addition to making full power with half the weight of the leading aftermarket turbo packages, the optimized configuration balances the snowmobile from left to right for easy riding.
For 2022, the Summit X with Expert Package solidifies its reputation as a leader in the deep snow segment with a narrower version. The skis move to an adjustable 33.7″ to 35.4″ spread to provide greater maneuverability on technical terrain. Not to mention the new standard brake reservoir protector.
New to the Summit X 2022 is an ultra-lightweight one-piece hood for both engine options, lightweight Expert Package springs and the standard SHOT starter for all variations of the 850 E-TEC Turbo, while the 850 E-TEC is offered with a choice of SHOT starter, electric starter or recoil starter.
In addition, 2022 welcomes a new addition to the Summit lineup: the Edge model, available year-round. It features some of the most innovative and proven mountain technologies like the short tunnel and SHOT starter, as well as key features of the Expert package to meet the needs of a wide range of snowmobilers.
Ski-Doo is again offering two transmission calibrations on the Summit X and Expert models (only): a high altitude calibration above 4,000 feet (1,200 meters), and a sea level calibration below 4,000 feet (1,200 meters).
