Go where others dare not go. 2019 Ski-Doo Summit. Conquering the places others can’t. Mountain snowmobiling is more than just climbing the next hill, slaloming through trees or exploring powdery areas. For Ski-Doo mountain snowmobilers, it’s more than taking the lesser-used trails – it’s creating your own path to the top. Seeking out new challenges and pushing the limits is second nature to Ski-Doo mountain snowmobilers.
The Ski-Doo product development team recognizes this ambition and understands that today’s mountain snowmobilers need a snowmobile that can more effectively use the energy the rider is willing to expend to push themselves.
This is where the 4th generation Rev platform and 850 E-TEC engine come into play. With the engine’s mass centralized on the narrow yet agile REV Gen4 chassis, mountain snowmobilers get a snowmobile with the ideal balance to respond to every command, reducing the effort needed to maneuver steep, technical terrain. The narrow profile of the side panels allows the rider to easily change positions, step further forward on the running boards and tilt the snowmobile further into the mountainside.
For 2019, the powerful and dynamic 850 E-TEC engine is joined by its smaller sibling, the 600R E-TEC, available on the Summit SP model in season for 146″154 versions, with a 3″ (7.6 cm) profile in the 600cc engine class. Sharing some of the technology of the 850 E-TEC, the 600R E-TEC is capable of the same dynamic response as its larger brother, but in the 600cc class. Both engines can be equipped with the SHOT advanced starting system. Developed by Ski-Doo last winter, this system allows the snowmobiler to make less effort by reducing the number of manual starts he or she has to make in a day.
For the mountain snowmobiler, being at the controls of a snowmobile as powerful and dynamic as the 2019 Summit lineup means less effort to ride, and more time to spend crisscrossing the powder, climbing the slopes, and spinning down the mountainside.
With the ever-increasing popularity of low-altitude mountain snowmobiles, BRP offers two drivetrain calibrations for Summit X models (only): a high-altitude calibration for altitudes over 1200 m, and a sea-level calibration for altitudes below 1200 m.
