At its annual gathering with its dealer network, CFMOTO Canada unveiled its new models for 2027. Among the highlights, one new motorcycle in particular stands out: the IBEX 950.
Sitting at the top of CFMOTO’s adventure lineup, the new model represents another important step forward for the brand. CFMOTO is entering the large-displacement adventure segment with a motorcycle designed to cover long distances while remaining ready to keep going when the pavement ends.
The new IBEX 950 combines a more powerful engine, serious components and an extensive list of standard features. In the process, it becomes the most powerful motorcycle CFMOTO has ever offered.
A New Flagship for the IBEX Lineup

At the heart of the IBEX 950 is a 946cc parallel-twin engine producing up to 111 hp at 8,500 rpm.
That powerplant immediately sets the tone. The IBEX 950 isn’t intended only for secondary roads or the occasional weekend getaway. CFMOTO presents it as a motorcycle capable of handling highways, winding roads and more challenging terrain.
That kind of versatility is essential in this category, where a true adventure bike may have to cover hundreds of kilometres before even reaching the trail its rider wants to explore.
Components Built for Adventure

CFMOTO turned to KYB for fully adjustable suspension, offering a generous 230 mm of travel at both the front and rear. The motorcycle rolls on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear, fitted with Pirelli STR tires.
Those wheel sizes reinforce the bike’s intended purpose. Rather than focusing strictly on paved-road performance, CFMOTO has chosen a familiar setup for adventure riders who genuinely intend to venture beyond the pavement.
Braking also comes from a well-established name. Brembo supplies dual 320 mm front discs and a 260 mm rear disc. The system is supported by Bosch electronics, including cornering ABS and traction control.
On a motorcycle designed to move from one type of surface to another during the same ride, those electronic aids can quickly prove useful as grip levels change.
Going Far — and Doing It Comfortably
A modern adventure motorcycle needs to be capable away from paved roads, but it also has to make long days in the saddle enjoyable. CFMOTO appears to have kept that firmly in mind.
The IBEX 950 comes equipped with a bidirectional quickshifter, cruise control, heated grips and a heated seat.
These are features that become increasingly valuable when a day’s ride is measured in hundreds rather than dozens of kilometres. In Canada, the heated grips and seat should also be particularly welcome during the cooler weeks at the beginning and end of the riding season.
The quickshifter should add another layer of convenience and enjoyment, particularly when the pace picks up on a winding road.
A Thoroughly Modern Cockpit
The rider interface follows the same approach with a large 8-inch MMI display.
Apple CarPlay and MotoPlay are integrated into the system, providing access to navigation, calls and essential riding information.
The CFMOTO RIDE app complements the system by allowing riders to access real-time motorcycle data and review their recent rides.
For a motorcycle designed around travel, that level of integration makes sense. It brings more functions directly in front of the rider without requiring multiple additional devices mounted around the handlebars.
The IBEX Moves into a New Category

The new 950 represents an important step for CFMOTO.
The company doesn’t appear to have created a motorcycle that simply looks like an adventure bike. Its choice of components and travel-oriented equipment suggests a machine designed to cover a genuinely broad range of riding conditions.
And that may ultimately be what makes the new IBEX so interesting.
The next question is how all these elements work together. In this category, specifications only tell part of the story. Low-speed balance, how naturally the bike can be controlled while standing on the footpegs, comfort after several hours in the saddle and how the engine delivers its power when traction becomes limited will matter just as much.
Our First Impression

With the 2027 IBEX 950, CFMOTO is showing just how far its ambitions in the motorcycle world have progressed.
The company is presenting a machine whose specifications appear genuinely aimed at riders who want to travel long distances without necessarily turning around when the pavement ends.
The combination of components from KYB, Brembo and Bosch, along with a comprehensive touring equipment package, looks promising. But the IBEX 950 is also entering a segment where several well-established motorcycles have already set a very high standard.
The real test will come on the road and off it, where we’ll be able to see just how far CFMOTO has come.
On paper, the new IBEX 950 has many of the ingredients riders expect from a serious adventure motorcycle. Now we need to find out whether it also has the character and refinement required to earn its place among the established players in the category.
