Backcountry riders don’t believe in limits. Whether it’s carving through tight trails, diving into untouched powder, or occasionally chasing the horizon across western terrain, they’re always ready for more. The 2027 Ski-Doo Backcountry is built for exactly that kind of rider—those who demand a sled that’s as versatile and capable as they are.

Trail day? Let’s ride. Off-trail exploration? Name the time. Deep snow in the mountains? While not a Summit, it can handle that too. The Backcountry thrives in every environment, and the 2027 model pushes the boundaries even further with refinements that elevate the ultimate 50/50 crossover experience.

The Backcountry’s strength lies in its ability to dominate both trail and backcountry terrain. The REV Gen5 platform delivers a rider-first cockpit that makes transitions seamless—sit, stand, carve, repeat. Its centralized engine layout responds instantly to rider input, making control intuitive and effortless.

The cMotion X rear suspension strikes the perfect balance between playful lift and cornering confidence. Up front, riders now have a choice between a 39-inch or 43-inch ski stance, allowing them to fine-tune their sled’s handling to match their riding style. The 39-inch ski stance is ideal for those who truly split their time between trail and off-trail, offering nimble control in deep snow while maintaining trail stability.

Front suspension options include RAS RX (on all 43-inch wide) paired with Pilot RX skis for aggressive trail handling, and RAS X (on all 39-inch wide and Sport 43-inch) with Pilot DS2 skis for the off-trail crowd and Pilot 5.7 skis (Sport) for smooth control on trails. Whether you’re chasing floatation or looking for extra comfort and bump filtering, there’s a setup that fits your style.

For riders who want it all, the Rotax 850 E-TEC Turbo R with water injection (available on the X-RS) delivers 180 horsepower—the most powerful 2-stroke in the industry. Its unique water-methanol cooling system (BRP recommends XPS ICE™) ensures consistent performance at any altitude, in any condition. From flatlands to alpine bowls, the power is always there when you want it.

Rack steering on X and X-RS models delivers precise trail tracking. Ice scratchers come standard (except Sport), and X-RS models include rail reinforcement for riders who push the limits. Engine options include the Rotax 850 E-TEC Turbo R, 850 E-TEC, new 600RR E-TEC, and 600 EFI—each offering lightweight, responsive 2-stroke performance with class-leading efficiency.

The 2027 Backcountry opens up more terrain, more adventure, and more winter than ever before. It’s the sled for riders who want to do it all—and do it well.
