After countless hours of wind tunnel testing, our engineers designed a chassis and windshield that can withstand the worst of winter’s assaults. Your VK540 is ready to take on any challenge.
KEY FEATURES
535 cm³ two-stroke engine cooled by axial fan
This proven design is known in its class for its rock-solid reliability. With a new high-powered magneto, ignition system and carburetor, the VK540 is even more efficient and will start with a twist of the key or a pull of the auxiliary recoil starter.
400 W high power AC alternator/magneto
Produces ample power to drive the new CDI digital ignition, heat the carburetor, illuminate the two headlight bulbs and activate the heated grips and other accessories.
44 liter tank
This large tank teams up with the increased fuel efficiency of the updated engine to give the VK540 almost twice the range of its predecessors.
Two-bulb headlight
As part of the redesign, the VK540 inherited a two-bulb headlight. The new headlight is much brighter than the old one and fits much better with the silhouette of the snowmobile.
PERFORMANCE
Three-speed transmission
The HI/LO transmission with reverse offers great versatility. In LO mode, you can pull heavy loads. Then, with the flip of a lever, you’ll switch to HI mode, which is designed for higher speed rides.
Camoplast Cobra 1.5 WT track
The main purpose of the 20 x 154 x 1.5 inch Cobra track is to maximize flotation and pulling power. The 1.5 inch bars are perfect for low speed use or when you need to tow large loads. This track enhances the performance of the legendary VK in deep snow.
MANIABILITY
Large plastic skis
The wide, plastic PEhpm mountain skis improve front flotation, offer predictable handling and great resistance to impact and wet, sticky snow.
CONFORT
Reduced snow accumulation
The new tunnel features snow drainage holes on the running boards. The tunnel is made of lightweight, high-strength steel to maintain the VK540’s legendary durability in the worst conditions.
LED tail light
This high-intensity tail/brake light is lighter and brighter than a traditional incandescent bulb and lasts much longer
Heavy-duty mirrors
Large mirrors help you see what’s behind you. They are attached to the inner portion of the windshield, keeping them safe from damage.
Large windshield
The wide, high, wrap-around windshield offers great protection from the elements, as well as the branches. The windshield has been wind tunnel tested to reduce vortices and provide great comfort for both the pilot and passenger.
Electric start as standard
The convenient electric start makes it easy to start in any weather. For added peace of mind, there is also an auxiliary recoil starter.
Large storage space under the seat
With its hinged seat, the VK exudes versatility. The roomy storage compartment under the seat includes a tool kit and room for all your gear. Plus, the seat pins are easily removed so you can move the seat quickly for faster loading and unloading.
Standard hitch
In addition to the storage and comfort-oriented features, a hitch is standard (factory installed) to help you tow additional equipment, which is ideal for work.
